Healthy Winter Breakfast Ideas - Easy, Nutritious and Delicious
This is the perfect winter breakfast, not only because it is served warm but also because it features ginger and cinnamon which are both naturally warming spices. This recipe serves 1 and can be doubled or tripled as required.
Ingredients and Method:
For the muesli:
1 portion spoon1 of Te Atatu Toasted 97% Sugar Free Healthy Blend Muesli
1 portion spoon hot milk (dairy, almond or coconut)
Method: Mix together and let steep for 15 minutes (while you get ready for work J)
Then place in the microwave for 45 seconds, check if it is warmed up, depending on your microwave, give it another one or two 15 minute bursts.
For stove top, place in a small pot and cook for approximately 3 minutes – take care that it does not stick to the pot, you may also need to add a little extra milk.
For the spiced fruit:
This can be done while you are warming the muesli or it can be made the night before and just rewarmed
5 or 6 pieces of dried fruit
1 portion spoon of water
1 chai tea bag
Method: Place all in a small pot and bring to the boil and boil for about a minute until most of the water has evaporated.
Put it all together:
Remove your warmed muesli from the microwave, place a spoonful of your favourite plain yoghurt on top or a dash of cream and place your poached fruit on top, then drizzle the pot juices all over.
Enjoy!
